Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We include a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who attend have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each student. We teach teens to serve and love other people. Community service events and real jobs offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a model of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly objectives set by instructors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to prepare for post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch recognizes that adolescents and their parents today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every student is encouraged to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
