Under the structure and order of a military school, wayward teen boys become respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Master Ranch – West in Washington State is a military-like Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose calling is to lead wayward teenagers to achieve their individual purpose, or destiny, in Christ.

Teens come to Master Ranch – West from across the country, including from Springfield, Oregon. Parents often find it valuable to grow in a new environment detached from their boy’s negative peers.

Military-Like School, With a Heart

Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.

Spiritual life is also the cornerstone aspect of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teenagers who come have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.

Leadership Training

Besides helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love each other. Community service projects and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at MR-West.

Academics

Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that uses a program of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly objectives set by tutors based on the student’s program of study. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.

Our Positive Culture

boys at boarding schoolThe caring staff here at Master’s Ranch knows that adolescents and their families today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of serving and caring for others.

Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a life of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.

Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is asked to play at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
