Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We have a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are devoted to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teenagers who attend have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Master Ranch – West exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we present specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love other people. Community service projects and real jobs offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly objectives set by teaching staff based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch recognizes that teens and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that young people can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is asked to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
