Military-Like School, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are dedicated to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who enroll have moved away from their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Master Ranch – West exclusively works with troubled or at-risk boys. Besides helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service events and real jobs offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a program of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals set by teaching staff based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to prepare for post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch knows that adolescents and their parents today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a life of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character growth as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is asked to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
