Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We have a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational aspect of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teens who attend have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Master Ranch – West exclusively serves troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service events and real jobs give real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that operates under a program of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly objectives set by teaching staff based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch knows that adolescents and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a life of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character maturation as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is encouraged to play at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
