When given the structure and order of a military school, wayward teenage boys become respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Master Ranch – West in Washington State is a military-like Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose purpose is to lead struggling teens to fulfill their specific purpose, or destiny, in Christ.

Teens arrive at Master Ranch – West from across the nation, including from Rock Springs, Wyoming. Parents often find it beneficial to experience a new environment separated from their boy’s negative peers.

Military-Like School, With a Heart

Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We include a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.

Spiritual life is also the cornerstone component of Master Ranch – West. We are devoted to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who come have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.

Leadership Training

boarding school for boysMaster Ranch – West exclusively works with troubled or at-risk boys. Beyond helping capable students get back on track academically, we present specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love each other. Community service projects and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at MR-West.

Academics

Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that uses a model of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly goals set by tutors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.

Our Positive Culture

boys at boarding schoolThe caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that adolescents and their parents today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of helping and caring for others.

Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a desire for serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.

Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character maturation as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is asked to play at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
