Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are dedicated to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who enroll have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Leadership Training
Master Ranch – West exclusively works with troubled or at-risk boys. Beyond helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we offer specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service projects and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Academics
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that operates under a program of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly objectives set by instructors based on the student’s program of study. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to prepare for post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that teens and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that young people can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character growth as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is asked to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
