Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are devoted to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teenagers who attend have moved away from their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Master Ranch – West exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we provide specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love other people. Community service events and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a model of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly goals established by instructors based on the student’s program of study. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to prepare for post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch knows that adolescents and their parents today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that teens can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they become committed to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every student is asked to try at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
