Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational component of Master Ranch – West. We are devoted to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who enroll have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Master Ranch – West exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we present specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love each other. Community service opportunities and real jobs offer real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that uses a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals established by teaching staff based on the student’s program of study. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that teenagers and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is encouraged to participate in at least one sport because of the important values that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
