With the structure and order of a military school, wayward teenage boys turn into respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Master Ranch – West in Washington State is a military-like Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose calling is to lead troubled teens to fulfill their individual purpose, or destiny, in Christ.

Teens arrive at Master Ranch – West from across the nation, including from Missoula, Montana. Parents often find it valuable to grow in a new environment separated from their boy’s negative peers.

Military-Like Academy, With a Heart

Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We include a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.

Spiritual life is also the foundational aspect of Master Ranch – West. We are dedicated to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teenagers who enroll have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.

Leadership Training

In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we provide specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service opportunities and real jobs give real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.

Academics

Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that operates under a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly objectives established by instructors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.

Our Positive Culture

boys at boarding schoolThe caring staff here at Master’s Ranch recognizes that teens and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are surrounded by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of helping and caring for others.

Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a desire for serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.

Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every student is asked to play at least one sport because of the important values that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
