Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone aspect of Master Ranch – West. We are dedicated to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teenagers who enroll have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Master Ranch – West exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we present specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each student. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service opportunities and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals set by teaching staff based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to prepare for post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch recognizes that teenagers and their parents today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a desire for serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character maturation as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is encouraged to play at least one sport because of the important values that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
