Perhaps you will look at Master’s Ranch – West, in Washington State. It is an effective military-like boarding school that just enrolls misbehaving boys, age 9-17, who have gotten off track in life.
Under the structure and order of a military school, wayward teenage boys turn into respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Master Ranch – West in Washington State is a military-like Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose purpose is to lead struggling teenagers to achieve their specific purpose, or destiny, in Christ.
Teens come to Master Ranch – West from around the country, including from Layton, Utah. Parents often find it beneficial to grow in a new environment detached from their boy’s negative peers.
Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We include a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teenagers who come have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Master Ranch – West exclusively works with troubled or at-risk boys. Beyond helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we provide specific leadership training to unleash the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service projects and real jobs give real life experience and application of the leadership principles taught at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that operates under a program of classroom and independent study. Students work through courses, with weekly goals set by tutors based on the student’s program of study. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to work toward post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that adolescents and their parents today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that teens can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is asked to try at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
