Military-Like Discipline, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone aspect of Master Ranch – West. We are devoted to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teenagers who attend have moved away from their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Master Ranch – West exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we present specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love each other. Community service events and real jobs give real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.
Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that operates under a program of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals set by teaching staff based on the student’s program of study. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that teenagers and their parents today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of serving and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a holistic approach to development. Every teen is encouraged to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
