Military-Like Academy, With a Heart
Master Ranch – West is a military-like school unlike any other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every student to His Maker. Many teens who enroll have dismissed their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, perhaps for the first time.
Leadership Training
Master Ranch – West exclusively serves troubled or at-risk boys. Beyond helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we present specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each child. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service projects and real jobs provide real life experience and application of the leadership principles taught at MR-West.

Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Master’s Ranch acknowledges that teenagers and their families today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are impacted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which believes that young people can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider MR-West.
Athletics at MRCA contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every student is asked to try at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.

More about military schools in Camas, Washington: Camas is a city in Clark County, Washington, with a population of 19,355 at the 2010 census. Officially incorporated on June 18, 1906, the city is named after the camas lily, a plant with an onion-like bulb prized by Native Americans. At the west end of downtown Camas is a large Georgia-Pacific paper-mill from which the high school teams get their name “the Papermakers”. Accordingly, the city is about 20 miles east (downwind) from Portland, Oregon. Historically, the commercial base of the city was based almost solely on the paper mill; however, the diversity of industries has been enhanced considerably in recent years by the influx of several white-collar, high-tech companies including Hewlett-Packard, Sharp Microelectronics, Linear Technology and WaferTech among others. Annual events include the summer “Camas Days”, as well as other festivals and celebrations.
