Military-Like School, With a Heart

Master Ranch – West is a military-like school like no other. We include a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.

Spiritual life is also the cornerstone characteristic of Master Ranch – West. We are committed to introducing every teen to His Maker. Many teenagers who attend have moved away from their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers an open environment for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.

Community service opportunities and real jobs give real life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at MR-West.

Academics

Boys who attend Master’s Ranch – West go to a fully accredited high school that employs a program of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals established by tutors based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. MR-West also encourages students to prepare for post-secondary goals by helping them prep for SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.

Our Positive Culture

boys at boarding schoolThe caring staff here at Master’s Ranch knows that teenagers and their families today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The MR-West model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that young people can develop self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they embrace the positive values of helping and caring for others.

Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a desire for serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider MR-West.

Athletics at MRCA play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is asked to participate in at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be gained. Master Ranch – West offers a number of sports programs.
