We take pride in being one of the first Trauma Informed Care programs in the nation.
Our dedicated staff members specialize in working with a myriad of needs, including teens affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Students in our program also individualized opportunities to work through ACEs and other life disrupting concerns.
We at Jubilee are dedicated to helping our students work through childhood trauma that may today be causing them to act out, be unmotivated or angry or depressed, or to misbehave. We especially make certain that we do no further damage to already fragile emotional states. Therefore, punishments for missteps are avoided at all costs and focus is placed on positive ways for the boy to achieve self-regulation.
Each new student at JLA attends Focus training. It is geared toward helping them understand and verbalize what makes them feel, and sometimes act out, as they do. This self-knowledge and understanding allows us to help them leave the past behind and focus on a future that is clear from old adversities.
